This project proposes a redesign of the existing packaging for the Braun alarm clock. As an international company, Braun relies on online orders instead of in-person sales; in creating a more memorable unboxing experience, the brand can more strongly re-engage returning audiences. The proposed packaging thus integrates the company’s renowned history into the new design via visual language and written copy.
Scope: packaging
Dimensions: 4″ x 4″ x 3″
Materials: heavy weight cardstock
Two versions of the packaging exist, one for the analog style clock (BC12B, circle face) and one for the digital (BC08B, square face). The central motif in each version is reflective of the shape of the products’ face.
Below (in order): front & back face of analog variation, front & back face of digital variation
Visuals + Assembly
Inspired by the brand’s Bauhaus roots, the design utilizes geometric shapes, Bauhaus inspired type, and bolder compositional layout. The color palette draws upon the product itself, creating a more integrated product-to-packaging experience.
The box is made up of 3 components: the outer layer, clock-framing inner layer, and bottom support. Once the box is opened, the user will be greeted with a warm glow of colour and iconic clock face.

Shipping/storage scenario: packaging can be placed face-to-face vertically.
