The HUG is a literal and metaphorical embrace of materiality. The cushion spills and puffs out into the arms of the snug wood frame and down into the slats beneath it. This piece is influenced by the idea of “wabi”, or humble simplicity, and addresses it through its balance of weight, form, and rustic aesthetic.
